Why Double D offers such reasonably priced horse trailers

Double D Trailers manufactures and sells direct all of its horse trailers at its North Carolina facility. Since 1994, we’ve been working hard to produce premium quality horse trailers for you. That’s right. We start from scratch with just the tires and axles on every one of our custom horse trailers. Each and every trailer is built right here and we sell directly to you, eliminating dealers and dealer markup.

What Double D horse trailers give you that the others don’t…?

• Our exclusive, patent pending Tack-Around design. Tack-Around is a unique tack and storage compartment built into the rear trailer door. It’s equipped with saddle racks and provides plenty of additional storage space for all that “stuff” you need when hauling horses. Swing both doors open to the sides of the trailer so the entire rear is open for loading and unloading, particularly helpful and safe for those “difficult” loaders. Just read our horse trailer “Testimonials” to learn how popular “Tack-Around” has become.

• A sturdy, durable, yet lightweight horse trailer built with No Rust Galvaneal®. The name says it all. Strong, No Rust Galvaneal® has proven over time to be more structurally sound than aluminum. (The auto industry uses Galvaneal in the bed of pickup trucks.) It stands up to the test of the road and the horse and provides an affordably priced alternative to an aluminum horse trailer. Our No Rust Galvaneal® horse trailers hold their value too. One former customer wrote that she sold her used Double D horse trailer in three days for the asking price. Nice!

• A less expensive living quarter trailer. Since we build it in-house, we keep costs down. Other horse trailer manufacturers typically handle their living quarter conversions like this: the manufacturer builds the trailer and sells it to the dealer. The dealer hires an outside source to install the interior. Does this all add to the cost of the trailer? You bet, in freight charges, third-party interior installation, and the final dealer markup. Here at Double D, once we complete the horse trailer structure, we roll it to our living quarter conversion building where we install and customize the interior. Our six-week turnaround time is one of the quickest in the industry for a custom built living quarter horse trailer.

Don’t just take our word on Double D’s quality - visit our horse trailer “Testimonials” to read what our customers have to say.
