Did you know most horse trailer aluminum roofs reach a temperature of 191 degrees?
It's a simple test at the Double D Trailer factory. Go out into a horse trailer that features a "mil" finish aluminum roof. "Mil" is the "natural" looking color of aluminum. It's the shiny material most of you are familiar with. Keep in mind that aluminum is a great conductor of heat. It's used to make solar panels and pots and pans.
Mil aluminum reaches a temperature during the summer of 191 degrees. This isn't an exaggerated number and is a test you can do yourself.
SafeBump® and Safekick® are cooler, quieter, and safer for your horses.
Aluminum Mil roofs are very hot and dangerous for your horses. Safebump roofs are very cool and provide more comfort to your horses.
Aluminum Mil finish roofs are dangerous. Since most horse trailer roofs are extremely thin, should your horse rear up, it is possible for his head to go thru the thin sheets on top. Safebump prevents this from happening, and actually absorbs the impact of your horse's head action.
Exposed screws from rubber lined trailers may cut your horses. When a horse paws, it's possible to completely rip the thin rubber lining on the inside of your trailer. Safekick prevents this from happening.
Make sure you new trailer has Safekick technology which is quieter for your horses, and safer on their legs if your horse should decide to kick.
