If your trailer needs service, we will locate the closest service location that can handle the problem and contact them. If the problem is covered under warranty and the service is authorized, we will handle all warranty claims and payments. What you should know about buying trailers long distance

Most horse trailer dealers do not have the experience, the knowledge, and the wherewithal to have a trailer shipped from the factory direct to you. For most horse trailer dealers, standard operating procedure (SOP) is to have the horse trailers shipped to their lot, and then (hopefully) they inspect for things not working right, for things missing, sharp edges from bad welds, etc., and most importantly, to check axles, brakes, floor boards, frame and structure (manufacturers generally don't check wheel bearings and axles before they go out.)

With the advent of the Internet, a lot of dealers are thinking "wow, I can shoot some customer a good price because I can ship it right to them without having to fool with it, or service it."

This can't happen when you get your Double D Trailer. Since all Double D Trailers are built right here and are shipped long distance, straight from the factory, we have become professionals at shipping. We check out every specific aspect of the trailer, from one end of the trailer to the other. This includes all lighting, structure, bolts, axles, tire pressure, bearings, and the works. Then the inside is swept clean of all debris, wire scraps, stray bolts, etc. After that's completed, all options, and placement of your special requirements are checked to be as they should be, and installed in the right place. This insures that you get what you ordered, and that the trailer is safely ready to roll upon arrival.

Service

What if I need service or warranty repair later on?

Most horse trailer dealers are used to selling in their immediate area. So again, they do not understand, or are not set up to service you over long distances. And even if a dealer does have a repair center (many do not) they usually want you to come to them. And, as you well know, full service horse trailer dealers are almost never right down the street - sometimes not even in the same county.

At Double D Trailers, we have designed, tested and implemented a long distance service program that serves you better than most dealers. We have someone on-call, Monday through Friday, ready to solve all your service and warranty needs. A horse trailer is basically a box on wheels; all service can be done at your nearby body shop. If it is a living quarter problem, we work with RV centers directly to correct any trouble that may arise.

We work directly with you and/or the body shop/RV center on repairs and maintenance, shipping them parts, faxing and/or emailing them instructions. Our goal is to get your trailer back on the road fast. If it is a warranty problem, we will determine this quickly and we are glad to pay the shop directly or reimburse you for the bill immediately. Best of all, body shop/RV centers do this for a living (whereas trailer dealers often do it out of necessity) so body shops/RV centers tend to get things done professionally, and fast.

Delivery

Our drivers will deliver the horse trailer at your convenience, not ours - including after hours, Saturday or Sunday. And whereas many drivers are anxious to drop it and run, our drivers will take the time to make sure you are comfortable with your new trailer before they leave. Of course they are bonded and insured so if anything happens to your trailer on the way there, it's our liability and responsibility, not yours.

For 2011 trailers and later, warranty is as follows:

(8) Year Warranty on Structural frame (read below for details)
(2) year bumper to bumper, including living quarters
(1) year on non-Double D Manufactured parts (such as tires, air conditioners)

Double D Trailers, Inc. warrants that its products will be free from defects in materials and or workmanship to the original purchaser for a period of up to (8) years from the date of manufacturing providing the conditions are met and satisfied. There may be an $100.00 deductible per claim.

--Warranty takes effect from the date of invoice and is non-transferable.

--The warranty does not cover the following items, which are not manufactured or constructed by Double D Trailers, INC.. The respective manufacturer with a copy of it warrants these components available upon request from Double D Distributors.
        - Axle Assembled - 1 year limited warranty.
        - Coupler - warranty as per manufacturers policy.
        - Jack Assembly/Landing Gear - warranty as per manufacturers   policy.
        - Wheels - warranty and/or adjustment made by manufacturers representative.
        - Tires - Per tire manufacturer

Normal wear items will not be replaced due to wear. These items include bearings, brakes, brake linings, hoses, etc.

Warranty is not applicable to leaks, specifically on living quarters nor damage caused by a leak. Leaks include water coming in from the roof, as well as a plumbing leak or line failure. However, should you find a leak on your trailer, please contact the factory and we will be happy to help resolve for you.

Why don't we cover leaks? Actually we will be happy to have a leak repaired quickly. Often times we find that customers will not report a leak as soon as it is found and wait until extensive damage has been done before reporting it. We will work to repair any leaks within the first 24 months, but not extensive damage that occurred due to it not being reported quickly.

Double D Trailers, Inc. is not responsible for damage caused by the abuse or by the misapplication or misuse of the trailer.

Any modification to the Double D Trailer without prior written authorization from the factory will void this warranty.

Any Double D Trailer found to have defective material or workmanship must be serviced or corrected by an authorized factory representative or by the Double D Trailer Factory. Any Double D Trailer authorized representative may make repair and/or adjustments under this warranty repair and/or adjustment and cost to repair or adjust is agreed upon and approved by Double D Trailer Factory. Double D Trailers will not make reimbursements for any repairs and/or adjustments made without prior written consent. Note to out of state customers: You will not have to bring your trailer back to the factory as we will work with local centers in your area convenient to you.

Double D Trailers, INC will not be responsible for any consequential or incidental damages incurred as a result of any defect to include loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use of vehicle, etc.

Double D Trailers, INC reserves the right to make changes in design or make addition and/or improvements without being obligated to install or modify same upon other products covered by this warranty.

When required photos of the defective part or parts of the actual part or parts may have to accompany the warranty approval before payment can or will be made. Any part or parts returned for warranty must be pre-paid freight to Double D Trailers, INC.

Double D Trailers, INC. reserves the right to decide if the workmanship or material defect should be serviced at the factory. Double D Trailers, INC will not allow any reimbursement for transportation to and from the factory or authorized place of repair. Double D reserves the right to set the cost of warranty. This set amount would reflect the cost of the repair if it were done at the Double D Trailer facility with their personnel.

The (8) year structural frame warranty implies that in the event during the 8 year period to the original purchaser, the crossmembers underneath, the vertical tubing uprights, and the mainbeam chassis that extends to the coupler is warrantied against breaking.

Overview: This limited warranty also does not cover: Damage or loss caused, in whole or in part, by failure to check torque lug nuts properly. Damage or loss caused, in whole or in part, by accident or negligence or by the abuse, misapplication or misuse of the trailer or any of its component parts. Any transportation charge to or from factory or service center. Normal items due to wear. These items include, but are not limited to, bearings, brakes, brake lining, or attaching brake parts. Items which are not manufactured or constructed by Double D. These items include, but are not limited to, assembled axles, coupler, jack assembly/landing gear, wheels, windows, latches, hinges, and tires. If these items are warranted by the manufacturer or supplier thereof, and such warranty may be extended to the original purchaser, Double D will make such warranties available. Damage or loss caused in whole or in part by prolonged exposure to salt air, road salt, animal excretions, acid rain, industrial fallout, or acts of God or nature that are uncontrollable. Any consequential or incidental damages based upon breach of contract, negligence, strict liability in tort, or any other legal theory, incurred as a result of any defect, to include loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use of vehicle, or any other fees incurred by purchaser relating to any warranty claim.

THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY MADE IN LIEU OF ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS AND NO ONE IS AUTHORIZED TO MAKE ANY FURTHER OR ADDITIONAL WARRANTIES ON BEHALF OF Double D Distributors, INC.
