1999 used 4H slant featherlite
Horse Area:
The horse area is set up for a 4H slant. It has 40" width stalls which are typical. Height is 7' it's a 7' wide trailer. The rear tack comparment you can see from the photos folds over neatly to the side out of the way when not in use. The dividers are have a torsion spring on them which keeps them in the "open" position when not latched...this is very convenient feature. Horse walls have a solid kick plate behind them, with rubber on top. Thick mats in the floor. The windows on the butt side all slide, and the windows on the head side drop down, or slide. There is a front stall escape door for easy access.
Stuctural and EXTERIOR Features: Built with 100% aluminum. It has white skin on the sides and extruded side walls around the horse area for added strength. The exterior of the trailer is in really good condition. There aren't any signs of horse "paw" damage, scratches from the horses being tied to the side, or the typical fender damage we see often times... Trailer weight is approximately 4,000 lbs. and we recommend a 3/4 ton truck for towing 4 horses...although we feel you could get by with a 1/2 ton on flat ground.
Dressing/tack room:
It has a 4' short wall and an 8' long wall. The nose area and flooring are carpeted. There are two brush trays on the wall, plenty of bridle hooks and hangers as well as a blanket bar. Also a clothes bar in the nose area. The saddle racks will move from the rear tack compartment, up in the dressing room. This particular trailer has a swing out saddle rack system, which is quite convenient. The saddles you can access from outside while standing on the ground, then when not in use, you swing them back inside your tack room.
Condition: It hasn't been abused. There aren't any dents on the outside or the typical abuse on the outside we see often times. The interior of the horse area isn't banged up and will clean up nicely. The trailer had not been washed when the photos were taken, but has been now and is ready. Areas of damage: the dressing room carpet on the nose is ok, but in the floor it is soiled as would be expected on an 11 year old trailer. The paint has flaked off of the rims, but they are not damaged or rusty. Appears to be typical on featherlite rims.
...flooring. We traded for this trailer from photos, which looked good to us. Once we received the trailer, we found out the flooring had not been cleaned properly, and had began to corrude in a few small places underneath the mats. We did apply a neutralizer to stop the corrosion, as well as made the necessary repairs to the flooring. We actually installed new flooring in the entire horse area. It is structually solid, and nowe safe for your horses.
