1999 used 2H Slant load with 8'6" living quarters
Horse Area:
The horse area is set up for two horses in a slant load configuration. It is a step up on the rear. The entire trailer is built of aluminum. Custom padding on the slant divider. The divider is on a nice slam latch and quite easy to use. There is a large sliding window with screen on the butt side 19"x53" and a drop down window with bars on the head side for each horse. The side walls are lined with 1/4" aluminum kick plate (very thick) and then covered with a durable rubber wall matting. There isn't any damage to the horse area, cleans up nicely. The side walls are insulated for a quiet ride as well as the roof. This provides for maximum temperature control on your horses. There is a pop up vent for each horse for additional air flow during the summer months.
The rear tack in this trailer is set up convenient. The saddle racks will fold in the "out" position with the pull of a pin. Also, you may collapse the walls over to the side if you have a horse that's hard to load. This feature allows the entire rear of the trailer to be open for loading/unloading and is an excellent safety feature. The horse area is 7' tall and 81" wide and will carry up to a 16 hand horse typically. For towing, you will need a 3/4 ton pick up truck. There is a full height front stall escape door on the first stall in the horse area.
Stuctural and EXTERIOR Features: You can see from the photos this is a sharp ride. Built with 100% aluminum and featuring an interlocking extruded aluminum floor, this is a very nice trailer. It has black skin on the sides and extruded side walls around the horse area with graphic package. The exterior of the trailer is in really good condition. There aren't any signs of horse "paw" damage, scratches from the horses being tied to the side, or the typical fender damage we see often times...this is an extremely clean trailer for the age. Used very little, in great condition. Trailer weight is approximately 5900 lbs. However, we do recommend a 3/4 ton pick up truck for towing since the axle placement is so far towards the rear. We feel it may be too much tongue weight on a half ton truck. Although with a strong air bag suspension and towing in flat ground, a half would probably work.
LIVING QUARTER FEATURES:
This is a nice size living quarters. Most layouts are packed without too much additional space and "cramped" interiors. However, this interior gives the "feel" of having a decent amount of space. There is a bench seat across the front of the trailer with a place for a removable pedestal table. The bed area is spacious with a front wardrobe closet. There is a TV hook up for watching TV, but the TV isn't included. The kitchen cabinets are built in a nice dark stain finish to give a really "rich" look to the interior. There is a refrigerator that functions well and a microwave up top along with a stereo system. Also a tank monitor system for checking black water and gray water along with battery power. The bathroom layout we like. A good size stand up shower stall with glass shower doors, floor to ceiling closet is located just behind the shower. Sink in the bathroom, toilet, vanity base with mirror up top and a storage cabinet over the toilet. You will find the living quarters in this trailer to be quite comfortable. Oh yes, there is an Air conditioner up top and a nice awning on the side, both are in great working condition.
