It isn't a secret that for years the horse trailer industry has done a great job of promoting aluminum as the primary choice of material to be used in every component on horse trailers. However, it is daily becoming more apparent that in certain areas, aluminum may present a danger to your horses. For example, when mixed with horse urine (which is highly acid) aluminum quickly corrodes in the floor. Take a look at the photos below:

However, below is what we found when we pulled back the stall mats.
This particular trailer came in on trade, the customer was hauling horses in it and didn't have any idea that at any moment her horses were at risk of falling thru the floor system.
