Please describe how and why you came to Double D Trailers.
Back in 2013, I was looking to purchase my very first horse trailer, and knew that safety for the horses and quality craftsmanship were essential criteria. That first trailer has proved itself time and time again, and it was a no brainer to return to Double D when my horses themselves grew in size, and the actual number of horses grew where I needed a new trailer. I did a lot of research online for that first trailer and went to several places within a 100 miles radius of home, but literally couldn't find a single trailer that could fit my safety and build requirements, nor meet my size needs. I could only find livestock trailers (to meet size but not safety/quality needs), or other brand trailers that simply didn't seem that well-constructed.
What were your specific trailer needs and search criteria?
This time I needed wider and longer stalls for my Friesian crosses, while maintaining the taller height of the trailer. Safety for the horses remains my number one priority, as well as a trailer that could hold up to rocky dirt roads and mountain travel. Over the years, I recognized the need to have a bit more clearance as some of these backcountry roads have decent sized rocks that would hit the bottom of the rear ramp, and sometimes the floor itself. So to be able to custom build and add longer/wider stalls and add clearance height was fantastic. I also wanted to add the gooseneck and larger dressing room so that I could get out more frequently in the mountains and trail heads to both car camp as well as packing in vs day riding with the smaller trailer.
Why do you feel Double D Trailers was the best deal on the market for you?
Hands down: construction, the thought and ingenuity that goes into these trailers, focus on safety as well as the details and options available to make the trailer not only highly functional for both horse and human, but aesthetically beautiful as well. No doubt I could have gotten something less expensive, but at the cost of worry and concern for safety and potential injury, and the likelihood of having to replace the trailer down the road due to poor construction.

Absolutely!!! Countless times I shown folks the differences between their trailers and mine from Double D, and shared the quality of construction and materials used.
