Please describe how and why you came to Double D Trailers.

I had a very specific design in mind and was looking for something truly custom, not just making minor modifications to some existing trailer model on the market. Double D is the only manufacturer that I've found (and I have called just about every one of them) that understood this co-design concept.

What were your specific trailer needs and search criteria?

I wanted a transformer of a trailer that would allow me to go from hauling a couple horses in box stalls, to having multiple compartments to fit my entire farm's 3 dozen-ish animals for fire evacuation, to having a single compartment for hauling large items such as a boat or small tractor. In addition to the versatility, it needed to be safe, low maintenance, and easily serviceable. My one search criterion is how truly custom the manufacturer is willing to go.

Why do you feel Double D Trailers was the best deal on the market for you?

There was one other manufacturer that could do the reconfigurable trailer. However, their design was 3 ft longer than Double D was able to do. My ideal trailer is one that could hold everything I needed it to hold and no bigger. So, I went with the more space efficient design with Double D. The other manufacture also had a different flooring system which was acceptable, but I preferred the rumber floors by Double D.

What other trailers did you evaluate during your shopping process prior to purchasing from Double D Trailers?

I pretty much looked at every trailer manufacturer. Most of them were eliminated very quickly due to their lack of interest/capability to do truly custom designs. The only other viable option I found was Cimarron.

Why did you purchase from Double D Trailers versus the other companies or brands you researched?

See above. Plus, even though Cimarron was willing and able to do custom builds, I had to work through a dealer. My project had enough complexity I did not want anything to get lost in translation.

Would you recommend Double D Trailers to others?

Absolutely

The whole design process was great. Kalib was incredibly patient, and while he enabled my design wherever possible, he also pushed back and kept me from making poor/inefficient design decisions. The documentation was meticulous. Every requirement was spelled out, and the manufacturing team made everything to spec.
