When it comes to two horse straight load trailers, this is one of the most classic designs you’ll see. But the safety features we cram into this V-Sport 2 horse straight load trailer are decidedly uncommon. A feature we put near the top of our list is our innovative rivet-free design.
Our V-Sport two horse straight load trailer also comes with Z-Frame technology for a lightweight and strong exterior. Then, double layer insulation and a SafeBump fiber-composite leak-proof roof mean your horse can enjoy comfortable temperatures regardless of the season.
This model comes standard with two straight load stalls, a V-shaped nose for maximum space and aerodynamics, and a pair of forward saddle racks. It’s a delightful little trailer for any horseman or horsewoman!

Most trailers use metal rivets spaced evenly across the roof and walls to secure the sheet metal to the side of the trailer’s frame. This results in a metal-on-metal scraping noise during travel and provides a vulnerable spot for water to invade (and degrade) your trailer.
Double D Trailers uses an extremely strong 3M chemical bonding system to attach the walls of your trailer. Not only does this prevent the noise and water damage, it also allows the metal to contract and expand naturally with changing temperatures. While the exteriors of other trailers appear to be warped and uneven on hot summer days, our trailers always have a smooth and flawless look.
Whether you’re making a quick trip to the vet’s office or headed away for a week-long show, the V-Sport is extremely versatile. Since it weighs only 2700 lbs, you will be able to tow with most any vehicle. The shorter wheelbase means it can easily be maneuvered by even the newest of drivers.
As a final note on towing, this model comes with lockable rear and side entry doors. This gives you added security, so you can be confident in leaving valuable equipment inside your trailer while away.
As with all of our trailers, the V-Sport 2 horse straight load trailer can be fully customized to match you and your horse’s personality. Many of our customers will choose to paint the exterior trim of their trailer a fun color to match their tow vehicle or farm colors – red, purple, blue – we’ve seen it all!
You can also customize the size of the horse stalls to match the specific sizes of your two horses. The V-Sport comes standard at 72” wide with a 7’6” height. This works well for horses up to 16.2 hands. However, if you have larger horses – such as warmbloods – the height and width of the trailer can easily be increased.
This model only comes with a forward facing orientation, but you may want to check out our popular SafeTack slant load models if you are looking for a reverse load trailer. Studies have shown that horses travel with less stress and fatigue in the rear facing direction.

Usually, there’s a very good reason why your horse doesn’t want to load onto a trailer. These animals are naturally claustrophobic and they see a horse trailer as a big scary metal box – a place they will be trapped and uncomfortable.
For easy loading, choose the rear door configuration that your horse prefers. The following variations are available:
We recommend the last option because it provides an extra layer of protection in the case of a rear end collision.
In order to reduce stress on your horses, we’ve also taken several other measures to make the V-Sport two horse trailer more horse friendly:
All put together, these features set our trailers apart from other 2 horse straight load trailers on the market. Best of all, every horse trailer is custom built-to-order. Once your trailer is complete, it can be delivered directly to your home or farm for one low flat-rate fee.

Two horse straight load horse trailers are very popular because they tend to be less expensive and easy to use. Butt and chest bars are used to secure the horses in their stalls and can present a safety hazard. Slant load horse trailers tend to be safer because they don’t have these bars and they make better use of the floor space on a shorter wheelbase.
Horses prefer any trailer where they can feel secure and confident when walking on. Some horses do well with straight load trailers. However, we’ve found that horses prefer SafeTack slant load trailers because they allow the horse plenty of room for loading and unloading. Slant load trailers also tend to be wider overall which horses prefer.
The V-Sport two horse straight load trailer only weighs 2,780 lbs when empty so it can be pulled by a variety of tow vehicles. In general, two horse trailers are 2,400-3,200 lbs, three horse trailers are 3,700-4,700 lbs, and four horse trailers are 2,800-3,900 lbs. This doesn’t include gooseneck and living quarters which would have added weight. A fully equipped 3 horse living quarters trailer might weigh closer to 14,000 lbs.
A straight load horse trailer is a trailer where the horse loads from the back of the trailer into a forward facing stall. They have a chest bar and butt bar securing them in their position. To unload, the handler usually enters the trailer through a small side door and backs the horse off the trailer. Straight load horse trailers are available to hold 2, 3, or 4 horses. Slant load trailers are often better and safer because they don’t have butt and chest bars (which can be dangerous if a horse hooks a leg over them) and slant load trailers make better use of floor space on a shorter wheelbase.
