2 Horse Slant Load Trailer:  Your New Home-Away-From-Home

Get All of Our Top Features on this Customizable SafeTack Reverse LQ Trailer (Available for 2-6 Horses)

Living quarters horse trailerThe SafeTack Reverse LQ Horse Trailer is a truly fantastic option for horse owners who spend a lot of time traveling.  It can be tiresome to spend night after night living on the road, but this trailer will become your new ‘home-away-from-home.’

Compared to our other two living quarters horse trailers, this model has it all.  It has every safety feature and living quarters amenity that we can offer in one fantastic design.

Plus, it gives you the flexibility to add on even more options and customize the layout and horse area features.  This way, we can help you create a trailer that perfectly matches your wants and needs.

What Sets the SafeTack Reverse LQ Apart?

Living quarters horse trailerJust like our popular Trail Blazer Living Quarters trailer, this model has all of our top safety features: Z-Frame technology, SafeTack compartment, SafeBump roof system, and SafeKick walls (just to name a few.)

In addition, the SafeTack Reverse LQ has many of our highest specs as standard features.  For instance, this trailer comes automatically with an extra wide 96” that is perfect for larger horses.  It includes a side loading door and ramp for easier loading and reverse haul capability.  Plus, this trailer can be built to accommodate anywhere from 2 to 6 horses.

Even the living quarters comes standard with more luxurious features like hardwood cabinets and Soft Touch walls.  The living quarters size on the SafeTack Reverse LQ starts out with a 10-foot short wall and can be specially built to a length of up to 13-feet.

If you’re looking for the very best that Double D Trailers has to offer with the flexibility to customize the style, layout, horse amenities, and convenience features…then this is the trailer for you.

Reverse Load Trailer for Safer Travel and Easier Loading

One of the top advantages of the SafeTack Reverse LQ trailer is its standard Combination Forward or Reverse Facing layout.  This means that your horses will have the option to load into either forward or rear-facing stalls for traveling.

reverse load horse trailerMore and more evidence is showing that horses travel more calmly and with less leg fatigue when they are in the rear-facing direction.  Plus, our easy “walk-on/walk-off” layout has helped many horses overcome their loading anxiety.

It all starts with our patented SafeTack design

Unlike conventional slant load horse trailers, our rear tack storage compartment swings completely out like a second door.  Once opened, there is a wide entryway for loading and unloading.  Compared to the narrow doorway on a conventional slant load, this is much safer for both horse and human.

You have two options for loading on the SafeTack Reverse LQ trailer.  You can load your horses from the side ramp and walk them back into rear-facing stalls.  Then, unload them by walking off the rear of the trailer.

Or, if you prefer, load from the back of the trailer and position your horses in a forward facing stalls.  The double-hinged dividers will easily allow you to offload your horses by walking forward off the side ramp. In both instances, you will no longer need to back your horse.

This patented design is especially popular in the 3 horse slant load trailer configuration, but can be adjusted to work for two to six animals.  Read this article to learn how our 3 horse slant load trailer compares to a 2+1 horse trailer.

3 Horse Slant Load Trailer with Top Horse Safety Features

A trailer can be a palace on wheels but that doesn’t mean much unless you can rely on your horses’ safety while traveling.  With this SafeTack Reverse LQ trailer, you won’t have any concerns in this regard.

Living quarters horse trailerWe already mentioned the SafeTack storage compartment in the rear corner of the trailer.  This fully enclosed and lockable space contains saddle racks and hooks for your equipment.  There is also floor space for grooming supplies and other smaller items.

The interior of the SafeTack Reverse LQ trailer is built to be “horse friendly.”  It is painted white to reflect heat and has overhead roof vents, large windows, and tubular head dividers for maximum flow of air and light. Even the skin of the trailer uses a rivet-free 3-M chemical bonding system to cut down on the squeaks and rattles associated with highway travel.

The Z-Frame dividers are stronger and more durable than typical steel or aluminum dividers.  They are spring loaded and include a quiet slam feature so you can maneuver easily within your trailer.  The ramp is spring assisted for easy lifting and the windows are built so that even the vertically challenged person can operate.

The roof of this trailer is made of a single piece fiber-composite SafeBump material.  The roofs on most other top trailer brands are single layer mil-finished designs with a perimeter seam that can leak over time.  Our SafeBump “no leak” roof will prevent water from seeping into your horse area or (even worse!) your living quarters where it can cause expensive damage.

The entire trailer is built to maintain a safer temperature on hot days.  The insulated horse area, white interior, pine or Rumber floors, and SafeBump roof all work to protect your animals from extreme temperatures and dehydration.  If you choose, you can add individual water troughs for your horses and an onboard water tank for easy transport.

This trailer is a great option if you own larger horse breeds that exceed 16.2H and 1,200 lbs in weight.  Oftentimes, people make the false assumption that slant load horse trailers don’t work well for Warmbloods, draft horses, and other large breeds.  We’re turning that idea on its head with our larger stall sizes and special modifications.  Read more about how our trailers can work for your large breed horse.

Highest Quality Living Quarters for You and Your Guests

Finally, let’s spend some time talking about the comfort of you and your guests.  After your animals are fed, brushed, and tucked in for the night, it’s time for you to wander into your spacious living quarters.

The SafeTack Reverse LQ comes standard with a 10’ short wall (with an option up to 13’).  Either way, you will have plenty of space for sleeping quarters, food preparation, bath necessities, and just hanging out during the evening hours.

Living quarters horse trailerImagine chopping up vegetables on your counters, grabbing spices from your hardwood cabinets and then combining it all in a pan on your 2-burner cook top.  Heat up some hot cocoa in your microwave and you’re good to go!

Stay inside in the air conditioning and prop up your feet while you watch a movie on your flat screen TV Or, extend your living space even farther by venturing out under your full-length patio awning and enjoy the stars.

The roomy bathroom with its top quality Thetford toilet, bathroom sink, vanity, and corner shower stall will provide welcome relief after a sweaty day of work.  A privacy door to the bathroom area adds to the homey feel of this spacious living quarters.

You can design this new living quarter horse trailer to be exactly the way you like it.  Every detail is under your control down to the type of wood, stain, cabinet knobs, counter tops, and even the layout of your new trailer. You’ll have the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy your friends and family after a long day with the horses.

By adding the ducted system, ductwork is installed in the ceiling of your trailer allowing the air to be equally distributed throughout your trailer evenly and with less force. This includes a wall mount thermostat so your unit will completely turn off and on when it reaches your desired temperature.
    ($1249)
  • Flip up Counter Extension

Heat strips work well in mild climates and it is necessary that you have a power source (electricity) to operate heat strips. In colder climates, a furnace is an nice option to have. • 30 lb propane cylinder

Extra exterior tie ring specify location of additional rings when you order.
  • Stock Side Trailer
Make this a stock side trailer (open slatted) rather than enclosed with windows. However, some customers want open stock style trailers, so this option is available. Pricing does not include the Plexiglass. Many customers feel open sided trailers are cooler but this is not the case. Since all Safetacks are insulated in the side walls, insulated in the roof, and use not heat transferring property materials, your horses will ride very comfortable in a fully enclosed trailer with windows and vents for air flow.
    ($368)
  • Tie Ring Interior ($43)
Extra interior tie ring (one is standard per horse, add a second for tying hay bays -- specify quantity)
