$500 Scholarship Awards (Bi-Annual)

The winning students will be announced in the middle of May and October on the Double D Trailers’ Facebook page.

Double D Trailers has been producing quality horse trailers since 1997. Our commitment is to build horse trailers that offer superior strength and safety for horses.

At Double D Trailers, we are also committed to offering financial aid to aspiring students. Each year we give away two $500 scholarships to students who submit entries that adequately meet the criteria described below:

Student Eligibility

The Double D Trailers bi-annual $500 scholarships are available to students in attendance at a high school, college, or university within the United States and Canada.  They should be following a curriculum path leading to a Bachelor's Degree.

Eligible students should demonstrate an interest in horses either through ownership or involvement in equine organizations and activities.

There are no fees for entry into the Double D Trailers scholarship.

Limited to one entry per student per 6-month cycle.

Employees of Double D Trailers are ineligible for the award.

Award Payment

The scholarship payment will be forwarded to the college or university attended by the winning student.  It will be provided in the form of a co-payable check to be applied to the student’s next tuition fee.

Deadlines for Entries

12 Noon Eastern on May 1st, annually

12 Noon Eastern on October 1st, annually

Submit Your Entry with the Following Information

    • Tell us about your career objectives as they relate to the equine industry? Write a statement explaining how your plan of study relates to your career objectives and to your continued educational development.
    • Include information about your high school and or college experiences, special interests, and current or recent extracurricular involvement that you feel will benefit your career goals objectives.
    • Write a statement describing your active participation with horses. Tell us about the activities you have participated in, events you have helped to organize or offices held (local and/or national).
    • Describe your future in the equine industry and how you can help keep our horses healthy, safe and happy.
    • List any awards or honors received through your activities or involvement with horses (local, regional and/or national).
    • What is the greatest obstacle you feel the horse trailer industry faces today and a solution for overcoming the obstacle.

How to Send Your Entry

Send an email to scholarship@doubledtrailers.com with your completed entry attached in a Microsoft Word document or a plain text file.

Include the following information about yourself:

    • Your Full Name
    • Your Email Address
    • Your Mailing Address
    • Your Street Address (if different from mailing address)
    • Your telephone number
    • The Name of Your College or University and Their Mailing Address
    • Your Area of Study
    • Your Planned Graduation Date
    • Photo of You, and Your Horse if You Have One, Which May be Used for Promotional Purposes

Incomplete entries will be disqualified.

All entries become the property of Double D Trailers.

Entries will be judged by Double D Trailers and the student who submits the most well-written entry will be declared the winner of a $500 scholarship.
